Not every leadership story is a straight line. Some of the best ones have a moment where a person almost walks away, and then chooses to stay.
This is that story. And it belongs to our Local Skills Development Director, Joshua Paludipan.
Joshua began this term carrying more than his share of weight. Life has a way of testing people at the worst possible time, and for a while, he was ready to step down.
The chapter did not accept that resignation.
Because we knew what Joshua was worth, even in a season when he could not see it himself. So instead of goodbye, the answer was simple: take your time. We will be here.
And he came back.
He returned to the projects. The meetings. The trainings. He picked the work back up, quietly and fully, and gave the chapter his best when he had every reason to give less.
That takes a kind of strength that no award measures. The strength to keep a commitment through a hard season. The strength to show up again after almost walking out.
But if you know Joshua, none of this surprises you.
Because he is, at his core, a man of principle.
He does not believe in dirty politics. He does not play the games that so many get pulled into. He leads with integrity, treats people fairly, and holds a standard for himself that he never lowers to win favor.
In a world that often rewards the loudest and the most cunning, Joshua is proof that character still matters. That you can lead without compromising who you are.
He came back not because it was easy.
He came back because that is who he is. Steady. Principled. Faithful to his word.
