Binnuyog: A New Bond of Friendship, Culture, and Partnership

On August 8, 2026, JCI Baguio proudly joined Binnuyog: Twinning Ceremony cum Lakbay Katutubo at the Vigan Conservation Complex, marking a meaningful new chapter in our relationship with JCI Vigan.

As part of JCI Vigan’s 5th Induction and Turnover Ceremonies, JCI Baguio formally entered into a Twinning Agreement with JCI Vigan, strengthening a partnership founded on friendship, collaboration, leadership, and our shared commitment to creating positive change in our communities.

But the day was more than the signing of an agreement. It was also an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the history, stories, and living culture of Vigan and Ilocandia.

Before the ceremony, we explored the Vigan Museum and learned more about the rich history and heritage of the Heritage City of Vigan. We also had the privilege of participating in a cultural storytelling activity with members of the local community, listening to stories and perspectives connected to Ilocano and Indigenous heritage. It was a meaningful reminder that culture is not only preserved in museums and historical structures, but also carried through the voices, memories, and stories of people.

And, of course, no cultural experience in Vigan would be complete without food! We also learned how to make one of the city’s most iconic delicacies, the Vigan Empanada.

These experiences gave Binnuyog an even deeper meaning. Twinning is not simply about connecting two Local Organizations on paper. It is about understanding one another’s communities, respecting the cultures and histories that shape them, building genuine friendships, and creating opportunities to learn, serve, and grow together.

Our heartfelt gratitude to JCI Vigan, led by 2026 LO President Romeo S. Dela Fuente Jr., for the warm hospitality and for welcoming JCI Baguio as a sister chapter.

To our new brothers and sisters in JCI Vigan, this is only the beginning. We look forward to transforming this partnership into meaningful collaborations, shared projects, cultural exchanges, lasting friendships, and greater impact for the communities we serve.

Two chapters. Two cities rich in culture and heritage. One shared commitment to leadership and service. Here’s to a strong and lasting sisterhood between JCI Baguio and JCI Vigan!
